FAQ's
So... is this your full time gig?
No. I work in ECE, which is super fun! I have a passion for families and children which I guess is why I end up working with them in photography as well. I love keeping my photography as my "side gig" which means I can keep the passion and enthusiasm up without artist burn out.
What subjects do you shoot?
People! I love capturing emotions. I also have a passion for everyday life as a topic. My favourite place to be is curled up in a corner of your lounge, clicking away as you read to your children and or go about your night time routine. Those moments in time race by and it is a beautiful thing to capture them.
Occasionally you may also find me playing with still life florals and the odd food shot, yum!
How long have you been a photographer?
Who is to say really? I've had a camera in my hands since my last few years of school, shooting weddings and bits and pieces on and off for friends. I was really career focused for a while there and actually sold my camera! Shock horror. It wasn't long before I seriously missed it (particularly after having my own children) and started to dabble again before committing to a year long course (2019/2020) and here we are!
Describe your style:
Gritty, authentic and real. Organic, natural and spontaneous.
No I won't edit you into a perceived image of perfection, filter your skin into smoothness and wipe your beautiful birth mark away. You are beautiful, just the way you are.
Do you have any props?
I prefer just to work with you and your home or a fun place that you often visit. That way I can insure the shoot is original and meaningful to you.
Is your charity work free?
Absolutely - I really don't want any payment. It would simply be fantastic to share some images (if appropriate and with your permission of course) and for you to pass my name on if you hear of anyone needing a photographer.
But where are the posed family portraits for grandmas wall?
Let's change it up for Grandma and do a wall series! Some in focus, some bits out, some laughing, some natural, some from laying on the ground... that is the exciting part of a shoot; you just never quite know where it is going. My aim is to provide a cohesive "story" that captures your day and that you look back to over and over again!
Why do you ask to share some images on social media or your website?
Frankly because I love them! I'm so passionate about what I do and when you produce a piece of art it is amazing to show and share. However I completely respect your own privacy and cyber boundaries as a family so it is something we discuss straight of the bat. You can choose what is shared (if any) and when.
Didn't you notice that picture is slightly...crooked?
I know, I know. I like authentic, quirky, mismatched, blurry, individual, colourful, crazy, fun and slightly out of the box. And that, my friend, is how I (and a lot of you!) like it x
"You have just done such amazing job and have captured his 2 year old spirit perfectly!" - Māmā to this happy dude!
